Some persons affected with hiv realized that people in their surroundings were looking to talk to someone who is hiv+ as it isn't always easy to ask questions to the seropositive person you know. The same persons were also looking for people in the same position, so for example an hiv- partner of an hiv+ would like to talk to another hiv- partner.
They also noticed that other seropositives are looking to discuss or date with other seropositives. |

The internet is a super medium because you can be who you want to be. This site however is not the place to play around. Out of respect for seropositives and their family&friends, we keep this site for them and only them.
Complaints about profiles can be sent to admin AT hivmix DOT com (or click the contact link at the bottom of this page). Several complaints result in deleting a profile and keeping track of the IP address to block it permanently. |

As with any chat, dating and profile website, do not reveal personal information or contact details until you feel comfortable and are ready. Do not include personal information in your profile. When you communicate with a member, do not feel pressured into giving out contact details such as email address or phone number. |

It is free and as long as the owner is alive and the server doesn't cost a fortune. The latter only depends on the amount of profiles, messages sent, pics uploaded etc. We estimate that thousands of people can join in before the server will need an update. |

Passwords are issued within minutes of registering on the site. If you are a Hotmail or Yahoo user and you've not received your password, it's likely that the email containg your password has gone directly into your spam/junk/unwanted email folder. Please look there before contacting us.
If this is the case, consider changing your spam settings on these accounts otherwise all emails from HivMix.com will go into your spam folder. |

Yes you do. Even if you logged in in a different language, you will still see the other users. |

I invited someone to chat but it doesn't work! |

You can invite someone to chat by pressing "Chat" or "Private chat". This person needs to be online and surfing on the website as he will need to accept your request to chat when a little window opens in the left hand corner as soon as he switches pages on HivMix. It is the same as when you receive a new message in your inbox. If you don't get a answer immediately, just let your chat window open until the other one notices the little window.
The Chat doesn't work for SAFARI (used on Mac computers). I did test on Firefox and Explorer, so please download one of them to be able to chat. |

Did you click the link in the mail to activate your account? If not you will get a message "waiting administrator approval..".
We do this because we don't want anyone to subscribe with your email address. Only when you confirm we are sure it is you and not someone abusing your email address.. |

in Windows : Start > All programs > Accessories > Paint > File > Open > Image > Stretch/Skew > [fill in an equal % in horizontal and vertical fields at 'Stretch'] > File > Save As (best select JPG if available). start again if the file is still too big. |
